HRWRP Meeting Tuesday August 16, 2005

Speaker introduction by Ed Taggart

Joyce Morrell talked about the importance of recycling and litter prevention and had a display of recycled products.

Meeting called to order by Ed

Treasures report was given.  Small dispute about 5K money
Carl motioned to accept, Phil seconded the motion

Membership Renewals, $35 was received
Window decals were a big hit
Carl said that the group would pay to get more of the decals
Maureen would check on prices

Voted for president
Merv nominated Ed
Ed accepted
Group voted with Ayes and Nays, Ayes won

Old Business
Secretary needed, Carl noted that this should be our number one priority.
He noted that we should talk to the senior citizens that meet at the senior center.
Fun Day- handed out itinerary flyers
                 Maureen went over the different tables that would be under our   tent
Asked for basketballs for the tournament, Mike and Heidi   Burton said they would bring some
  Tent set-up 9am, Friday before event
We should have a display at the Party in the Park, Any volunteers?
Send Rosita a get well card

MOU, Committee will review new revision (Bo, Ed, Carl)
Carl brought up ownership of equipment bought by grants, Mike explained that the rightful owner of the equipment would be the administrator of the grant who received the money and did the legwork for it.

Maureen read a
letter from RA’s insurance company stating that if Rural Action (Maureen) is in charge of a project, activity or event that they would cover any liability involved, archive, copies to Ed and Carl

USEPA - targeted watershed, Belden looks good

Discussed Arbor Day Foundation and FREE trees

Found lots of fish!

Passed out MRM annual reports

Discussed hydrocarbons at Linden.  Should contact oil companies, to inform them of the potential for disaster if hydrocarbons got into the system.
