Old Business : RA/MOU - q Maureen: Some changes requested by Carl and others incl Carl Concern of money used from grants (specifically EPA grants) for equipment purchases are property of HRWRP or sponsor (eg. Crossroads or RA)? Carl and others want property (equip, etc) to remain w/ HRWRP (not sponsor) since it will be used for Huff Run purposes. This appeared to be very item of concern for partnership members and needs to be verified with OEPA. Carl also asked for special meeting to discuss this since too lengthy to discuss at this meeting. 319 Grant – Maureen q New 319 Grant application includes three reclamation projects; was submitted this past week. q EPA now more strict on allocation of funds in these grants. $$ requested has to be related strictly to projects. No longer will simply be able to fund Fun Days, newsletters, Awareness days, etc unless specifically ‘related’ to one of the funded construction projects. Only small percentage of Fun Day, newsletters etc were written into this grant. Current Project Update - Jim q Lyons – currently under construction (please consult email updates with construction info) q Lindentree – Just had contractor complete repairs of some minor areas during this past month. All work appears complete. q New attendee (Glenn Beatty) mentioned at this time letter recd from John Sprouse (ODNR-MRM forfeiture program) regarding reforestation and repairs on some of Miller’s old forfeiture areas in watershed. Fun Day - Maureen q August 27, 2005, regular festival from 10am -3pm q 5K run and Fun Walk – Register @ 8am, 5K/Walk @ 9am q Need more crafts and games q Any ideas for ANYTHING, let Maureen know q Phil said he would donate a bike again this year. q Group decided to hire a local band at no more than $100. q Volunteers NEEDED!!! Don’t forget to BAKE!! Mo-send out reminders!!!! VISTA – Maureen Found a desk and chair to be donated by Terri! All set and anxious for Terri to begin. Insurance Concern – general discussion w/ present members Maureen – talked with Jane (RA) who discussed concerns w/ their insurance carrier. Discussions: Ø If --- RA had legal control over group, they could put HRWRP on as a rider, ALTHOUGH no one really wants them to do this…. However, anything that is done by Maureen (RA employee) will be covered under RA insurance. Ø Might want to look for individual insurance policy for HRWRP which may cost up to $1200- $1600. Ø Carl advises that ANYTHING or ANYONE wanting to look a particular project, or do anything within the watershed MUST go through Maureen so that activity, and anything related to that activity, would be covered under RA liability policy/insurance. Ø Will need confirmation of the above-mentioned from RA to HRWRP for final clarification to group members. Advisory Committee – (for watershed coordinator position): committee members incl. Ed, Carl (or any other board member interested in attending), Mike Steinmous, Crossroads (?) and one member from ODNR (Jim and/or Cheryl). q Will meet after this evening meeting q Committee will establish a Chain of Command (COC) or Table of organization (TO) for coordinator position. q HRWRP ÞAdvisory committee (AC) ÞRural Action. In other words, any member (HRWRP) will go to the AC with any concerns, comments or otherwise. If cannot be resolved locally, the AC will go to RA for assistance or discussion. Correspondence – Maureen q OSM Newsletter – Nice article on ACSI grant for group for Fern Hill reclamation project. Other items of discussion – q Awareness Day – Group received apology from one of teacher’s for behavior of their students. q Thank you from Sandy Township Trustees for help on Litter Pick Up Day q Carl – recommend sending gratuity payment to Pastor Peggy for use of church basement for day. o Phil motioned for $50.00 check be sent to Pastor Peggy o Cheryl second motion. q Maureen – Acknowledged the meeting that Carl and Phil attended in Columbus for support of SWCD (DWCD) funding support program. Money for program was allocated and approved. Good Job!!! Thanks for support. Respectfully submitted by Cheryl Socotch. |
