Huff Run Abaondoned Mine Lands Reclamation  Project
back to projects page
The Huff Run ALM Reclamation Project was the first major project in the watershed.  It was completed in 1998 to reduce sedimentation and acid loading from a large, unreclaimed surface mine.  The project involved the resoiling and revegetation of over 60 acres, 109,000 cubic yards of earthwork, 1600 linear feet of stream reconstruction and removal of an AMD impoundment. This project was in Mineral City, in the area of the American Legion Hall.
