Miller Mining Forfeture/ HR-22

Project Details

Located downstream in Tuscarawas County, the HR-22 site was forfeited by the Miller Mining Company. A small tributary from Huff Run flows from large gob piles. This small stream then flows though a forested area but outcroppings of toxic sandstone can be found along its banks and in the stream itself. A reclamation project funded by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mineral Resources Management, Abandoned Mineland Division reclaimed the gob piles during the summer of 2008. They installed steel slag and limestone channels as well.
