Around the midpoint of the stream, Huff Run breaks into a series of wetlands that were caused by a beaver dam in the late 1990s. Since, the beaver dam has broken up but the stream has never flowed as one unit though this area since. Wetlands are a great natural sink for pollution, taking out metals. Ed Taggart, our long time Huff Run President, lives along this wetland. We would like to raise the retention rate of the water in the wetland to capture more metal loading and drop out more acidity much like Raccoon Creek's Mulga Run Project.
